Food Safety Regulatory Affairs Specialist – Nutrition and Label Compliance 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars Mapleville, RI 02839 We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Regulatory Affairs Specialist with 2-3 years of experience to oversee the management of nutritional’s on food labels and ensure general label compliance. This role requires expertise in interpreting and applying regulatory requirements related to food labeling and nutrition information.
Responsibilities:
Manage the accurate and compliant labeling of food products, including overseeing the nutrition facts panel, ingredient lists, and all other required labeling information Interpret and apply USDA regulations, guidelines, and industry standards related to nutrition labeling and general label compliance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that labeling and nutritional information on products meet regulatory requirements Review and approve packaging and labeling materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards Stay updated on changes in labeling regulations and communicate potential impacts to relevant stakeholders Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory documentation related to food labeling and nutrition information Provide regulatory guidance and support to internal teams, including marketing, R D, and quality assurance, to ensure compliance with labeling requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
In-depth understanding of FDA regulations and guidelines pertaining to food labeling, including knowledge of nutrition labeling requirements Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate regulatory requirements to internal teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as food science, nutrition, or regulatory affairs 2-3 years of experience in regulatory affairs, with a focus on managing nutritionals on food labels and ensuring general label compliance. Familiarity with nutrient databases and labeling tools (e.g., Genesis
R D, ESHA
). Certification in Label Compliance or Regulatory Affairs (e.g., RAC) is a plus.
