Risk Control Analyst 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Atlanta, GA The Risk Control Analyst is responsible for performing risk control analysis on natural gas trading, compliance and operations along with providing and enforcing recommendations on acceptable limits based on industry and market information. In addition, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining assigned risk control reports along with performing other analysis as needed. The Risk Control Analyst will build and maintain collaborative relationships internally and externally and support the finance team in meeting all departmental and company goals. Are you a fit? Additional Responsibilities Performing risk management analysis, monitoring, and reporting for Natural Gas trading activity Monitor Market Risk Limits (Notional and VaR) Logging, documenting, and reporting policy exceptions and violations Reviewing deals in the trading system by performing volume checks, price validation, and data reconciliation Monitor timely deal capture, internal trading limits, and risk policy requirements to ensure the integrity of transactions in the trading system Work closely with Traders, Middle Office, Accounting, Finance, and Credit to ensure best control practices, operational efficiency and policy/limit compliance Identify and communicate operational risk, define risk mitigating measures and priorities Perform end-of-day portfolio valuation and distribute end-of-day risk reporting Monitor and report on counterparty exposures enforcing limits determined by Credit (AR, MTM, Potential Exposure, Expected Exposure) Perform reconciliation of current and forward unsettled positions Support transaction settlements Monitor Trader Authority limits Stress test open positions as required by the risk policy Identification of potential control gaps and coordination of effort to evaluate, implement, and document changes in the business process associated with key risk management controls. Maintain, enhance and review risk models Provide clear interpretation and presentation of risk data and analysis to stakeholders Assist in managing risk policy documentation Various ad hoc requests, reports, and projects as assigned Experience Bachelor’s Degree – Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or Business Administration preferred Solid understanding of risk position exposures and Value at Risk (VaR) analysis. Proficient in Microsoft Excel Internship or 2 years’ prior work experience Preferred Experience Power BI, Python, SQL or other data science understanding is desirable Strong technical and quantitative skills Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects Solid understanding of data analysis, model building, model valuation Exceptional attention to detail Excellent academic record with a quantitative based degree

Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk or workstation while performing computer-based tasks, conducting meetings, and collaborating with colleagues.

Standing and Walking:

Ability to stand and walk within the office environment, such as when attending meetings, interacting with colleagues or external stakeholders, or visiting different departments.

Lifting and Carrying:

Ability to lift and carry material, files, or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, such as when organizing documents or setting up for meetings .
