Work Schedule:
Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid schedule in our Charlotte office with a few days in office weekly and some remote days.
The Senior Analyst role will work in Ally’s enterprise Model Risk Management function under the direction of the Model Risk Director responsible for Analytical Tool Validation (e.g., Python, SQL, R, SAS, Excel, Power BI). These tools support critical functions such as external regulatory reporting, corporate forecasting, risk appetite, pricing, valuation, capital, liquidity, stress testing, and strategic decision making within Auto Finance, CFO Group, Insurance, and Commercial & Consumer Banking Products. Also, this role will support the Validation Director with the continuing buildout of the framework inclusive of knowledge shares with the Business Lines, issue and change validations, and ongoing performance monitoring reviews of tools that produce estimates. The Sr Analyst is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and relevant validation/testing reports, issue identification/remediation efforts, providing feedback to the Business Lines to promote best practices and subject matter expertise to the internal Model Risk Management team. The Work Itself
Perform Ongoing Performance Monitoring (OPM) analysis as directed by Model Risk leadership.
Perform issue validation and closure activities for issues sourced by the QAT Validation team, execute follow ups with the Business Line as issues approach their closure date. Partner with other IRM departments on validation activities and sourcing of issues Perform change materiality assessments to determine if further validation testing is necessary
Utilization of industry experience to provide internal coaching and feedback to other validation analysts while encouraging a culture of continuous learning. Perform Validation/testing on analytical tools in the CFO, Auto Finance, and Commercial & Consumer Banking Products areas of the Bank. Validations will consist of control, data, & methodology/calculation testing, report writing, verbal & written communications, and potential issue identification & remediation. The Skills You Bring
3+ years in Model Risk Management, Model Risk consulting, Model audit or a similar analytical function / independent review and challenge function (e.g., SOX Financial Controls, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Capital Risk, Liquidity Risk, CCAR/DFAST, Scenario Analysis) Related business line function experience is highly desired. Proficiency in reading and interpreting multiple programming languages with emphasis on SQL, Python or SAS
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel (including VBA), Word, and PowerBI (including DAX & Power Query Editor) required Masters in a quantitative-based subject with a focus on relevant areas such as: Finance, Economics, Statistics, Analytics or an additional 3 years in a similar work experience.
Experience with reviewing others’ written work and performing QA analysis.
Experiene and comfortability with working in a high performing environment while retaining flexibility with shifting strategies/priorities.
Excellent and demonstratable ability to collaborate, communicate (verbal & written), and partner with Business Line partners to meet enterprise expectations and ensure that the Business Line understands requirements set forth in the Standard.
Strong experience with reading, writing and reviewing technical documents.
Preferred:
analytical and/or model whitepapers, academic/industry whitepapers.
Preferred experience in performing Ongoing Performance Monitoring analysis to evaluate tool reliability.
Preferred experience in developing, testing, creating challenger tools/models, and effectively challenging unique tools
Experience with control-based testing and/or evaluation
