Prime One is a leading transportation company committed to safety, compliance, and operational excellence. We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented DOT Safety Risk Management Specialist to take charge of key responsibilities, including claims management and new driver orientation.
Job Summary:
As the DOT Safety Risk Management Specialist, you will ensure compliance with DOT regulations, manage safety programs, handle claims, and lead new driver orientation programs. Your role will involve identifying risks, ensuring smooth onboarding for new hires, and driving continuous improvements in safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance & Risk Management Monitor and enforce compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Conduct risk assessments on drivers, vehicles, and operations. Investigate accidents, incidents, and violations, providing corrective action plans. Analyze compliance and safety data to identify trends and recommend solutions.
Claims Management:
Oversee accident and incident claims, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Coordinate with insurance providers and legal teams as necessary. Implement measures to reduce claims frequency and severity.
Driver Support & Orientation:
Facilitate orientation for new hires, ensuring they understand company policies, safety protocols, and compliance requirements. Train new drivers on pre-trip inspections, Hours of Service (HOS), ELD use, and other key areas. Act as a safety resource for drivers, answering questions and addressing concerns.
Policy Enforcement & Communication:
Enforce company policies related to safety and compliance, addressing violations promptly. Communicate safety expectations to drivers and management regularly.
Collaboration:
Work with dispatch, maintenance, and HR teams to maintain a culture of safety. Partner with the operations team to address safety and compliance gaps.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Experience managing claims and handling accident investigations. Proven experience in safety and risk management in the transportation or logistics industry. Excellent communication and training skills for new hire orientation. Familiarity with ELD platforms and safety management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
