  • Job Summary:
  • This lead validator position will lead model validation related responsibilities in the independent validation of BSA/AML models, including (but not limited to) Transaction Monitoring, Customer Risk Scoring, and OFAC/Sanctions Screening systems, as well as fraud models.
  • Location for this position is in New York City or St Petersburg, FL.
  • Will not be able to provide visa sponsorship.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • + Own, develop and manage working relationship with BSA/AML and fraud model stakeholders + Monitor and keep abreast of changes in AML and fraud related regulations and MRM policies.

+ Develop validation plans for BSA/AML and fraud-related models. + Lead, perform and review model validations for BSA/AML and fraud-related models, including model policies and procedures, conceptual soundness, assumptions/limitation, output analysis and ongoing monitoring metrics. + Complete model validations per validation plan. + Maintain organized tracking of validation findings, issues, and remediations. + Perform BSA/AML and fraud related model ongoing monitoring, annual review and other model independent review tasks. + Manage junior validators

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

+ BSA/AML and fraud models, regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, and OFAC. + Model Risk Management regulatory guidance SR 11-7 and

OCC 2011/12.

+ Statistics and other quantitative fields and data validation principles. + The role of models in financial crime detection and prevention.

Skill in:

+ Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation, data analysis, and reporting. + Clear written and verbal communication, especially in organizing findings and writing summaries. + Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and structured problem-solving. + Using data analysis programs such as SQL, R, or Python for data validation and analysis.

Ability to:

+ Understand how BSA/AML and fraud models operate and produce outputs. + Learn regulatory expectations and apply them to model validation work. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Financial Crimes, Risk, Compliance. + Follow structured validation procedures and meet project deadlines. + Document findings in a clear, professional language.

  • Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
  • + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

+ 5-10 years of professional experience in AML and Fraud model development and model validation, or work experience related to financial crime, data analysis, compliance + Proficient and strong understanding of risk management, data analytics, audit, or related field. + professional development, including certifications such as CAMS is encouraged.
