RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is accountable for administering and directing the organization’s Risk and Insurance functions. In collaboration with business unit leaders, the incumbent establishes ERM policy and direction for the organization and each of its entities, and acts as the healthcare risk manager. Responsible for enterprise-level risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting efforts. Works closely with business units and senior leadership to lead efforts analyze, quantify, and communicate risks throughout the organization. Leads the enterprise risk management work groups and efforts to build an enterprise risk management dashboard to easily view and monitor risk metrics throughout the organization. Provides the framework and methodology to help the organization, consistently assess, and manage the applicable risk in each area. In collaboration with business unit leaders, develops strategies to identify root cause surrounding clinical and operational risk issues; works to create processes to address these issues and ongoing performance improvements to safety, employee/physician engagement and patient experience. Maintains strong understanding of operational metrics, mentors and leads team in building risk management programs to achieve best practice performance through strong analytical capabilities, process improvement identification, project management and technology enhancements. Demonstrates working knowledge of all facets of clinical operations, relevant regulations, and policies and procedures of assigned departments. Performs other duties and projects as assigned. Performs all duties in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master’s degree in healthcare administration, management, statistics, law, finance, economics, or business continuity/quality management 10 years of progressive leadership responsibility and experience in risk management in multi-state healthcare setting required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Previous Experience:
Ten (10) years of recent experience in healthcare enterprise risk management programs and practices and insurance and liability claims programs for a multi-state organization; advanced understanding of enterprise risk, related control frameworks and practices, and existing and pending regulatory requirements. Insurance Claims and Contract Management experience required including expertise in insurance contracts, contract management, incident and claims reporting and management including but not limited to medical mal practice, workers’ compensation insurance, general liability insurance, employer’s liability insurance, health insurance, D&O insurance, healthcare Regulatory Insurance, and Cyber Insurance.
Regulatory & Compliance:
Must demonstrate a clear understanding of relevant regulatory requirements (CMS, AHCA, TJC etc.). Prior nursing leadership experience in an acute care or outpatient setting preferred. Multi-state experience required.

ERM Center of Excellence:
Demonstrated knowledge of risk models and processes that minimize losses while optimizing patient safety and profitability. Ability to devise and implement organization wide risk management policies. Knowledge of management, fiscal, administrative, and healthcare operations aspects. Ability to effectively devise and implement organization wide risk management policies, ensuring implementation of best practices for the achievement of desired clinical and operational outcomes and KPIs.
Regulatory requirements:
with a focus on compliance patient safety, risk avoidance and insurance. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory and statutory requirements related to functional area.
Human Resources Management:
Effectively hire, coach and support staff develop, as well as manage resources, performance and employee relations, and supervise within established policies, procedures and legislation.
Self-Management:
Effectively manage own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development.
Systems:
Working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and advance Excel skills. Prior experience using ERM applications.
Certifications/Licenses:
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) required Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred Certified in Health Care Privacy Compliance (CHCPC) preferred. Valid Florida nursing license preferred. Valid Florida Driver License required for travel to clinics. Must comply with the company’s Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy.
