- Hybrid work About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an AML and BSA Transformation Director as part of our Consumer, Small and Business Banking organization.
This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting the financial integrity of the organization. Your responsibilities encompass developing and implementing strategies to enhance AML and BSA programs, mitigating financial crime risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. In this role, you will: Oversee CSBB Emerging Risk program including development, review, and implementation of AML and BSA policies, procedures, and controls to ensure effectiveness in detecting, preventing, and reporting suspicious activities Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential money laundering and terrorist financing risks within the organization and implement measures to mitigate these risks Develop training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees on AML and BSA requirements, including detection and reporting of suspicious activities Evaluate and implement advanced technologies and tools to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of AML and BSA processes, such as automated transaction monitoring systems and risk assessment tools Lead a team of AML and BSA professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team’s success in achieving organizational goals; interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for functions with moderate to high complexity and risk Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior leadership, control management, risk, legal, and audit partners to successfully ensure appropriate management of business risk Partner with business units to integrate risk intelligence into day-to-day decision-making and operational processes Monitor and assess emerging financial crime trends, typologies, and threat vectors using internal and external data sources Translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for frontline teams, including fraud operations, onboarding, and transaction monitoring Collaborate with second line (compliance) and third line (audit) partners to ensure alignment while maintaining first-line ownership of risk Drive innovation in risk detection using machine learning, behavioral analytics, and real-time monitoring
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of risk management, business controls, or compliance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
Extensive experience in AML and BSA compliance within the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry trends Proven track record in developing and implementing AML and BSA programs, as well as managing regulatory examinations and audits Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically and implement effective solutions Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization Proven experience leading issue management, change management, intake and governance, internal and external audits, etc. Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communications skills with an ability to interact effectively with stakeholders and regulators (including virtual) as well as across various levels within the organization CISA, CRISC and/or CAMS certification
