May function as lead examiner for IT examinations. Evaluates financial institutions’ compliance with relevant information security regulations, policies, and controls, and reviews system documentation and provides actionable recommendations. Assesses financial institutions’ Information Security Programs (ISP) with a focus on ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of critical systems and data. Identifies and evaluates IT risks related to cybersecurity, data protection, and operational effectiveness, recommending improvements to mitigate identified deficiencies and vulnerabilities. Evaluates how financial institution management addresses IT-related governance and risk management in planning, organization, and execution. Discusses findings and prospective recommendations with the examiner-in-charge (EIC). Documents examination results and findings in workpapers. Prepares comments summarizing examination results and findings for inclusion in examination report. Professionally interacts with financial institution management, staff, Boards of Directors, and other stakeholders during examinations and presents examination findings to management. May also serve in a limited capacity as assistant to the internal IT Manager for administrative functions. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and relevant work experience is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field of study is strongly preferred and may be substituted for the required work experience. An understanding of GLBA Interagency Guidelines Establishing Information Security Standards 501(b), NCUA Rules and Regulations, Part 748, and/or 16 CFR Part 314: Standards for Safeguarding Customer Information is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing is necessary. Must have the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, and standards and to make decisions and solve problems. Security+ certification or similar will be considered a plus but not required. Must be able to safely lift and carry files, books and reports weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for intermittent periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, and twist at the waist to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment. This position requires occasional overnight travel throughout the state. Travel and lodging costs will be reimbursed according to State regulations; however, the employee must provide his or her own transportation.
