The Risk Manager will oversee the organization’s comprehensive risk management program, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks. The Risk Manager will supervise insurance and surety programs, contract management, and claim management functions. Job Responsibilities Oversees the organization’s comprehensive insurance program, including general liability, auto liability, workers’ compensation, contractors professional and pollution liability, property, cyber, executive risks, and subcontractor default, and works with project teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of all insurance claims, including preparation and submission of claims documentation, for general liability, disability, workers’ compensation, auto, etc., managing the process from beginning to end. Partners with key stakeholders to develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to minimize risk and loss, enhance risk management effectiveness, and track/forecast the experience modification rating (EMR). Conducts thorough reviews of legal documents for insurance-related compliance issues to identify and assess risks and ensure compliance with legal/regulatory requirements. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, TPAs, brokers, insurers, and other key partners. Evaluates and recommends appropriate insurance coverage and pricing for new pursuits. Develops project-specific insurance bid specifications and manages project insurance coverage and bonds throughout the project lifecycle. Assists with CCIP, OCIP, and captive program development, implementation, and management, and evaluates financial performance. Leads annual property and casualty insurance renewals, completing all applications accurately and timely, and reviewing, comparing, and negotiating insurance policies effectively. Acts as subject matter expert on all insurance-related matters and provides in-house training on risk management topics and emerging risks. Collaborates with CFO to develop insurance client billing rates, internal cost rates, Statement of Values, property risk data, certificates of insurance (COIs) and endorsements for clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Evaluates and oversees the SDI prequalification process. Performs additional responsibilities as requested. Education & Experience Minimum required – Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, Risk Management, Engineering, Insurance, Accounting, or related field. Minimum required – Five (5) years of experience conducting risk analysis calculations on large-scale construction projects Knowledge & Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Previous experience using Viewpoint and Bluebeam preferred. Strong proficiency in data analytics tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other key stakeholders. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. High attention to detail and ability to review operational procedures, policies, and compliance regulations. Familiar with construction requirements and strong ability to negotiate contracts. Proven ability to accurately assess risks and identify potential vulnerabilities. Prior experience collaborating with captive insurer on policy renewals, coverage purchases, and claim reviews. BELL is an equal opportunity employer.
