This job is primarily responsible for generating profits by trading company capital in financial markets. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing research and analyzing market trends, interpreting and effectively sharing insights and collaborating with commercial teams. This job will work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strict deadlines and targets. In this job, you will: Create, implement, and support the business plan to include strategy, asset utilization, market development, strategic alignment with the organization, and current objectives. Research and analyze market trends, identify profitable opportunities, and develop both discretionary and quantitative trading strategies to generate returns. Buy and sell agricultural derivatives or other markets as allowed, accurately maintaining records of trading activities and performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Manage risk exposure with trades, ensuring adherence to established risk management guidelines to protect company capital. Collaborate with commercial teams to share insights and develop/refine strategies. Monitor market conditions, analyze performance of trades and refine strategies to improve profitability; this will include monitoring of markets during irregular hours such as evenings and weekends. Continually monitor and analyze markets to balance a bias and/or understand potential risk points on the curves. Provide reports, explanations, and updates to the group on positions and trades. Create additional revenue by leveraging optimal strategies. Ensure compliance with all company, federal, and industry regulations. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, third party vendors, and end users to improve and expand origination and sales. Other duties as assigned. Here’s what you’ll need to be considered: Education Required – Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field. Experience Required – Trading experience in oilseed crush or similar industry. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities In-depth knowledge of agriculture, commodity, financial markets and trading instruments. Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; including proficiency with trading software and financial analysis tools. Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data and quickly make informed trading decisions under pressure. Strong ability to critically think. Strong negotiation and conflict management skills. Strong time management and prioritization skills, with ability to remain flexible to changing priorities. Strong proficiency in managing risk and making strategic decisions. Required to work outside of normal business hours (e.g. evenings and weekends). The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment. Travel, occasional travel required for meetings and trainings; depending on primary location additional travel may be required to visit physical plant locations. The expected base pay range for this role is: $167,600.00 – $220,925.00 Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job.
