Commodities Support Analyst New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc. 11 Columbia Circle, Albany, NY 12203

Summary:

The position facilitates the review, verification, and processing of all commodity applications submitted by NYSID members. The role ensures that all required documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with NYS Office of General Services (OGS) Preferred Source procurement guidelines. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving discrepancies in the submitted paperwork, researching and establishing market comparisons, and preparing applications for final approval by NYS OGS. The Commodities Support Analyst position is also responsible for maintaining accurate records in NetSuite and related systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Review and verify commodity applications for new commodities, price revisions and product line extensions submitted by Member Agencies. Analyze for completeness, accuracy and compliance with Preferred Source procurement guidelines. Conduct market comparisons to ensure pricing competitiveness. Identify discrepancies and missing information in applications; coordinate with NYSID member agencies to resolve issues. Compile and prepare commodity applications for submission to Manager, Commodities and eventual submission to OGS. Maintain accurate records of commodity applications and updates within NetSuite and other related systems. Prepare and issue application status reports for all commodity additions, changes and deletions. Serve as initial point of contact for Members on commodities applications. Manage priority approval process. Item set-up in SharePoint for priority requests, as necessary. Prepare and issue contract status reports fort Manager and VP, Commodities on all commodity additions, changes and deletions. Data entry of commodities into NetSuite, as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Travel as required.

Qualifications:

The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position. Associates degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong data entry and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to project a friendly, business-like presence both on the phone and in person. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, high volume work environment. Proficiency with various computer software applications including computerized accounting systems, databases, spreadsheets and word processing (preferably Microsoft Office Suite).
