International Tax Associate I Ruiz Lopez

Miami, FL • Remote Hiring an International Tax Associate I Description Role Description and Expectations Ruiz Lopez CPA is currently looking for an international tax associate to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to get exposure to preparing tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and corporate structures while developing your professional skills. The ideal candidate for the team is detail-oriented, initiative-taking, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment. As an International Tax Associate, you will focus on supporting the client onboarding process, working on accounting projects, and preparing income tax returns for individuals and a variety of entities. This is a great opportunity to strengthen your accounting and tax knowledge while adding value to our clients by helping with their tax requirements.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Assist in the client onboarding process – draft professional services proposals, master service agreements, and statements of work; complete required steps to include a client and their entities within our platform. Assist in the billing process. Prepare federal and state income tax returns including international tax forms for individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations. Gather data from clients and analyze tax-related financial information. Prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations. Assist in special consulting projects such as preparing year-end tax projections, identifying and researching planning ideas, structuring international transactions in a tax-efficient manner, effective use of tax treaties, planning related to offshore investments activities and repatriation programs to minimize US and foreign income taxes, and preparing financial analysis to obtain optimal tax minimization strategies for our clients. Research various federal, international, state, and local income tax regulations. Assist in preparing correspondence to clients regarding proposed and final Internal Revenue Service regulations affecting their various tax positions. Team with other colleagues and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (must be in their senior year) of Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or another relevant field. Bachelor of Accounting completed is preferred. Pursuing (or intent to pursue) a CPA license. Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely. Strong research and analytical skills. Experience with all Microsoft Office products. High proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel). 1+ years of experience preparing Federal and/or International Tax Returns. 1+ years of experience in an accounting related field. Experience with UltraTax, Onvio, QuickBooks, Bloomberg Tax preferred. Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines. High motivation to learn and grow. Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills. Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future.

Bilingual in Spanish Ability to work overtime during tax seasons Compensation Statement The annual base salary range is $50,000 – $70,000, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience and skills. Ruiz Lopez CPA offers a bonus program called “Earn your Bonus” which is based on the billable hours worked during tax season. We believe your bonus should be a reflection of your hard work, and you should have the ability to directly impact it and measure it. Schedule The position is remote with a flexible schedule. The candidate must be located in Miami or the surrounding areas with the ability to commute to the Coral Gables area when needed. It is expected that the candidate will work during regular office hours Monday through Friday. Benefits Employees are eligible for paid time off (40 hours per year), six federal holidays, and the day after Thanksgiving as an additional paid day off. The firm offers paid holiday shutdown in the last week of the year (between Christmas day and New Year’s Day) Employees are eligible for a monthly allowance to cover internet and phone expenses while working remotely.
