Long Term Contract Job Summary:
The Tax Filing Agency Senior Analyst will oversee the administration of tax filings and notice resolution with government tax agencies. This role involves working across Tax Filing Shared Services to mitigate escalations and responding to client and client team inquiries. This job will have the following responsibilities: Educate clients and provide subject matter expertise for payroll tax filing and notice resolution. Support and provide timely research on compliance and regulatory issues. Recognize the need for process improvement and communicate to management; support any process improvements/changes. Meet periodically with the Operation Services Manager to report metrics and any delivery issues. Support the implementation of new clients. Oversee delivery operations, including managing Tax Filing suppliers. Compile, report, and analyze metrics. Problem-solve using tax knowledge and experience. Responsible for calculation of Penalty and Interest (P&I) and abatement letter requests. Research and resolve payroll tax notices in a timely manner, including abatement requests, calculation of Penalty and Interest, and identification of root cause and prevention measures. Mentor and support colleagues. Manage Tax Filing suppliers to ensure accurate and timely delivery. Approve checklists and work checklist queue. Coordinate testing for updated interfaces. Conduct variance analysis when issues need escalation or analysis. Communicate effectively with clients and internal partners regarding ongoing operations and problem-solving with analysis/resolution of tax-related issues. Work under tight deadlines. Apply knowledge of payroll tax to notice resolution and process improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma and 3 years’ experience in tax filing. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 2+ years of Payroll Tax Filing experience. 2+ years of client interaction and management. Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, vlook-ups, macro development, etc.). 2+ years’ experience with tax filing software. Master Tax experience highly preferred. ADP Smart Compliance experience desired.
