JOB DESCRIPTION
The Specialist, Tax and Insurance of the Tax Department directs the day-to-day operations of the tax functions. This includes responsibility relating to reviewing the servicing portfolio for accurate and timely payment of real estate tax, ensuring compliance with all state, federal, and investor requirements.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Examples below:
Oversees timely payments for tax disbursements in batch and single processing modes according to installment due dates for the particular payees/taxing authorities. Process loan level disbursements related to tax installments to applicable taxing authorities. Perform tax research on escalated loan level issues/concerns received. Responsible for making back search calls as requested and processing payments for current and delinquent taxes. Responsible for researching and clearing liens that could take priority over the mortgage lien. Review departmental control reporting to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines. Perform reconciliations, control functions, and compile special projects where analysis of tax data is required. Perform variety of basic tax clerical duties by following instructions and procedures. Complete research items within 48 hours of receipt. Process and release tax installments timely per applicable guidelines. Review and remediate all control reporting data anomalies within managements prescribed timelines. Execute and maintain reports for external clients. Perform ad hoc queries as necessary, with management approval. Proactively and effectively assist in managing all vendors involved in administering the tax process. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for vendor performed and internal business processes. Assist with the day-to-day management of any vendors assisting in any Customer Operations business processes. May learn other skills such as cash team processing of deposits, etc. Making calls to tax authorities, attorneys, or other contact parties to conduct tax/HOA related research and achieve resolution. Owning issue resolutions for each account worked. Meet all required deadlines and think creatively to solve problems. Solves problems rapidly and cost-effectively with minimal disruption.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience: Please note: This position is 100% onsite in West Palm Beach – Worthington Office. It is not a remote or hybrid position. A bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred; High School Diploma, GED, equivalent certification, or military experience required Microsoft Excel proficiency 3+ years’ experience in the mortgage industry Must be analytical, logical, and meticulous Strong regulatory compliance knowledge preferred SQL proficiency preferred Ability to work independently Outstanding communications skills (including verbal, written, and listening skills) Problem solving and decision-making abilities Well organized, paying close attention to detail Execute and prioritize multiple tasks Flexible and adaptable to change Ability to build relationships (respect, trust, consensus) Training /
Licensing Requirements:
Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable. Onsite in West Palm Beach Required. #
