For inquiries regarding this position, you can contact De’Andria Trunnell at deandria.trunnell@dor.ms.gov. About the Position This position is in the Review Board and Tax Policy area of the agency. The Review Board is the first level administrative appeal body for taxpayers who are aggrieved by an action of the Department of Revenue. The Tax Policy area is responsible for researching and drafting proposed rules and other policy statements on behalf of the agency and reviewing applications for tax incentives. This job has a wide variety of responsibilities including research and writing for Review Board minutes and orders, auditing and approving agency certified incentives and credits, drafting agency rules and regulations, drafting letter rulings and declaratory opinions, and other duties as assigned. What you’ll need to be Successful The ability to maintain a professional attitude and integrity, ability to learn and apply tax law, policies, and procedures, be proficient in using Microsoft Excel workbook, ability to communicate with taxpayers and tax professionals in verbal and written form, ability to multitask and manage assigned tasks, and excellent time-management, organizational, and communication skills. To be successful in this role, candidates should be:

- Able to problem solve. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 4 years of experience.
