is a dynamic, full-service CPA firm with a proactive team of experienced and dedicated tax and accounting professionals. We deliver exceptional tax, bookkeeping, and advisory services from our Boone and Winston-Salem offices to valued clients across the High Country, the Triad, and virtually throughout North Carolina. We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to lead and manage our individual tax practice from our office in Boone . The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of individual tax experience, demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional client service, and exhibit robust business acumen, proven leadership capabilities, and technological proficiency.
Position Details:
Job Type:
Full-time (32 hours/week May – December; 40-50 hours/week January – April 15)
Work Location:
Boone, NC (with essential flexibility for remote work as needed)
Compensation:
Salary is commensurate with experience. Please provide your salary requirements with your application.

Qualifications:
2-5 years of individual tax preparation and review experience required . 1-2 years of staff management experience preferred , but not required. CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred , but not required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to multitask, manage complex assignments, solve problems effectively, and consistently meet deadlines. Proficiency in Drake Tax, QuickBooks, and TaxDome preferred , but not required.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and meticulously review individual tax returns and projections. Analyze clients’ individual tax situations to identify tax-saving opportunities and provide insightful recommendations for minimizing their tax burden. Assume full responsibility for the coordination and successful completion of individual client tax return and planning engagements. Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional, proactive service. Mentor and foster the professional development of staff accountants. Identify opportunities for process improvement within our individual tax return preparation workflow, implementing technological enhancements and workflow automations to streamline operations. Conduct federal and state individual tax research and resolve complex tax issues. Respond effectively to IRS and state tax notices on behalf of clients. Why Join Our Team?
