Sales Tax Specialist – North America (Hybrid, East Coast)

Full-time, 35 hours/week,

Monday-Friday Salary:

$65,000 – $70,000/year + Annual Performance Bonus Are you an experienced Sales Tax Specialist seeking a hybrid finance role with flexibility and long-term growth? This full-time position focuses on sales tax reporting, exemption certificate management, and multi-jurisdictional compliance in a high-volume environment.

Sales Tax Specialist Responsibilities:

Prepare and file sales tax returns in multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces Maintain and validate exemption certificates; ensure database accuracy Reconcile ERP and tax automation systems (e.g., Avalara) daily Identify and resolve discrepancies in tax calculations and filings Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure accurate tax setup for customers Support special projects and general accounting functions as needed

Sales Tax Specialist Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years’ direct experience with sales tax compliance Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian sales tax regulations Experience with tax automation software (Avalara preferred) and ERP platforms Skilled in handling large volumes of exemption certificates Strong attention to detail, communication, and cross-functional collaboration Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
