Sales Tax Analyst Location:
Knoxville, TN (Location is Non-Negotiable) As a member of the Sales Tax professional staff, this position contributes general knowledge and skills in the Sales Tax Compliance area to support Lodging Tax Department business objectives. The Sales Tax Analyst reports to the Assistant Manager, Sales Tax Compliance, and completes routine accounting and compliance tasks associated with the client’s required sales and occupancy tax compliance for assigned properties within assigned states. The position is also responsible for maintaining an accurate compliance environment, researching the taxability of transactions as needed, and ensuring that all deliverables are completed timely and accurately. The Sales Tax Analyst is the primary point of contact for the client on tax matters for assigned states. Basic Qualifications Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance and/or accounting -OR- in lieu of 2 years’ experience, a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related degree with 6 months’ experience Preferred Qualifications Manage projects and work independently to resolve day-to-day Sales Tax compliance and accounting issues Proficient in tax research tools and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proven experience with sales tax Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills Interpersonal and cross-team working skills Strong problem-solving skills Associate or College degree Professional Skills Comfortable operating in a dynamic, transformational environment, where change is embraced and viewed as an opportunity for one’s own professional development and to drive process improvement for the team and broader organization Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and delivery, with an ability to effectively work across teams Organizational skills and ability to multitask with a variety of systems and processes to meet competing deadlines Highly motivated with strong analytical and critical problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail, where accuracy and precision are critical to success, yet possessing an ability to step back and understand organizational objectives, and how tax department activities contribute to them Demonstrated ability to interact with and collaborate with resources in an onshore offshore staffing model Systems technical acumen, with a desire and aptitude to learn and master new financial accounting and reporting systems. (Examples include tax research tools, Microsoft products, CorpTax, QuickBase, and other systems.) Ability to manage projects and work independently to resolve day-to-day sales tax compliance and accounting issues Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
