Job Summary:
A Tax Associate is an integral part of our tax department, participating in various tax-related activities to ensure compliance and optimize our clients’ tax positions. Responsibilities will include assisting in the preparation of tax returns and conducting research on tax laws and regulations, which assists senior leadership in providing valuable insights to clients. Our professionals have one goal in mind when working with clients – to help them minimize their tax liability while keeping them in compliance with ever-changing tax laws. In to providing consulting and compliance tax services, our professionals offer several additional services, including stock option planning and international tax advice. We also provide expert consultation regarding tax implications on investments, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and liquidations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Assist in responding to inquiries and correspondence from tax authorities, including drafting letters and supporting documentation and communicating with IRS personnel Support the tax department in various administrative tasks, including organizing and maintaining client files and documentation. Proactively manage and take ownership of tax engagements by treating client accounts with a sense of personal responsibility, including consistent follow-ups on project progress and ensuring timely completion and filing of deliverables. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to appropriately prioritize and manage time based on a combination of external and internal deadlines.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation. Licensed CPA or actively working towards license. 1-3 years of progressive public accounting tax experience. Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g, CCH Axcess) and Microsoft Office Suite Expertise in the preparation of individual, partnership, S-Corporation, trust, and tax-exempt organization tax returns.
