The individual in this role will report to the Deputy Director of Tax Operations and will assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, direct and indirect tax filings, tax notices, and maintenance of tax documentation and records. This position will also provide support with special projects on an ad-hoc basis.
What You Will Do:
Assist in preparation of the company’s non-life quarterly and annual tax provisions and disclosures under ASC 740 and
SSAP 101.
Assist in compiling data requests for third party premium tax provider related to premium tax returns for insurance entities. Prepare Federal and State income tax return workpapers. Prepare sales and use tax returns and other non-income tax filings. Assist in preparation of Forms 1099. Assist in the preparation of Forms 1042/S. Assist with responding to tax notices and other taxing authority correspondence. Assist with requests from any U.S. tax service providers. Develop a working knowledge of the tax profile of entities in the Fortitude Group. Assist with general tax planning and other ad-hoc projects, as requested
What You Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or Masters of Tax preferred. Experience in a corporate tax department or Big 4 audit firm is a plus. Insurance tax experience and familiarity with tax issues for multinational financial institutions preferred, but not required. Must be a self-starter, a problem solver, and possess a willingness to grow and develop. Be a team player with ability to work collaboratively in-person and from remote locations with lead tax teams, other departments in the company and its outside advisors.
