The position:

The position of Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax Analyst verifies, audits, and monitors clients’ UI tax rates. The Analyst will also evaluate various savings opportunities for clients as they arise. They will act on behalf of our clients with the applicable state unemployment agencies to inquire about and resolve issues related to their unemployment tax account(s). This position also requires coordination with other departments to produce deliverables to clients and prospective clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze and verify UI tax rate notices, including the filing of protests of rate calculations (if necessary) Evaluate potential voluntary contribution and/or joint account opportunities where applicable Consult and strategize with clients on various UI tax issues Use professional discretion and judgement based on subject matter expertise to ensure our clients stay in compliance with various state laws, statutes, and regulations regarding UI tax matters Review M&A details and communicate activity to Tax ConsultingRecovery Services Department to ensure state compliance and project management Prepare registration forms for clients establishing new business(es) not related to M&A activity Assist in preparing and delivering comprehensive Annual Reports to clients Participate in the implementation process for new clients as needed Assist in the education and acclimation of new client to the Unemployment Cost Control Program, inclusive of but not limited to introductory phone calls and/or meetings, providing specific and thorough detail of all services provided by the RateAudit department Calculate future UI tax rate projections for clients as requested Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner Additional job functions include preparing Tax Impact Reports (TIR) and acting as back-up support for other T&C departments as needed regarding to UI tax matters Requirements and Qualifications Associate degree required; Bachelors’ degree preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and T&C proprietary applications 6+ months of experience with unemployment-related matters An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
