Huffman, CPA is a smaller, well-established accounting firm that serves clients in northern Shelby County, south Tipton County and the Mid-South area. Our focus is on providing quality, comprehensive, value-added accounting, tax and consulting services to a broad range of small to mid-sized businesses, individuals, industries and non-profit organizations. Our office is looking for a Tax Associate to be responsible for accurate preparation of individual tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. The ideal, successful candidate will have a basic understanding of individual taxation and be open to additional training. and the ability and willingness to work in a team environment. This candidate will have the ability and willingness to work in a team environment to ensure both regulatory compliance and client satisfaction. Duties Prepare tax returns for individuals, including federal, state and local tax returns; corporation and partnership returns experience preferred Ensure compliance with all federal and state individual tax filing requirements Communicate with clients during the tax preparation process to obtain needed information Ability to interact with various federal, state, and local tax jurisdictions Prepare work papers supporting the tax return (when needed) Efficiently manage a high-volume workload, providing timely results to our clients Recommend and assist with implement of various tax systems/software programs to enhance processes Ability to adapt to new systems quickly Seasonal Hours 40 hours per week on average Reduced summer hours May 1 – Labor Day Occasional nights or weekends may be required February – April Experience 1 + years of tax experience preferred Proficiency with ProSeries and QuickBooks preferred Teachable mentality Positive Attitude Education Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation (or other business-related field) or equivalent experience required Join us as we strive for excellence in our operations while fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.
