The position involves the monitoring and maintenance of all bankruptcy files, maintaining relationships with members throughout the bankruptcy process, and addressing delinquent payments currently in bankruptcy status. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for tracking records of bankrupt and delinquent accounts while providing clerical support to the Member Solutions Department. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BANKRUPTCY REPRESENTATIVE INCLUDES

Monitoring and maintaining the upkeep on bankruptcy account portfolio in accordance with internal policies and procedures. Responding to member inquiries regarding budget counseling, loan extensions, payment methods, and account resolutions Processing account adjustments and reversals, while maintaining accurate bankruptcy records Coordinating with attorneys, trustees, and other stakeholders to facilitate legal actions and documentation preparation Updating bankruptcy account statuses, filing claims, and communicating account progress as necessary Preparing objections, charge-offs, and referrals in adherence to established procedures Performing other job-related duties as assigned

BENEFITS SPECIALIST SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE

High school education or GED 1-2 years of experience in collections to include consumer loans, overdrawn shares, bankruptcy, recoveries, or other related financial institution products Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
