About the Position
Second-level professional position responsible for auditing county appraisal work in the Central to Southwest area of Mississippi. Position regularly works in and serves as the primary Department of Revenue contact for a group of Mississippi counties and works directly with locally elected officials and their staff to provide technical assistance and guidance concerning appraisal plans, methodology, mapping, data collection, property transfers and sales analysis. Position ensures county compliance with statutory mandates and Department of Revenue regulations. Position assists with the research and development of appraisal schedules and guidelines and may provide training for county staff.

- Requires extensive day travel and occasional overnight travel within Mississippi

Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Requires MAE Certification.
Agency preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or recognized equivalent (Required)
- 3•5 years of real estate appraisal experience (Preferred) • Requires passage of State Certified Mass Appraiser designation within 1 year of hire • Requires passage of Mississippi Assessment Evaluator exam
