ENTRY-LEVEL SALARY

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years customer service, accounts receivable, or cash handling experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist customers at the counter in various tax related matters. Accept and apply tax payments. Accept and process applications for various licenses and permits. Answer telephone and provide information on variety of tax related topics. Balance and close out daily cash, check and credit card receipts. Prepare daily cash reports. Process electronic payment files. Open and sort incoming mail. Assist elderly property owners in tax relief application and verification. File Bankruptcy claims. Various office duties; order supplies, pay vendors, schedule maintenance on office equipment. Various correspondence with tax payers; partial pay notices, duplicate bills, requests verifying payment application details. Maintain knowledge of ongoing issues affecting tax delinquencies, i.e. tax sales, pending legal suits. Process payments for miscellaneous receipts such as code enforcement liens, community development loans, etc. Perform related work as required.
