Responsibilities:
Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issuesincluding compliance, advising, planning, structuring andcontroversies Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to providerelevant subject matter and industry knowledge and experience tointernal and external clients Review information presented on state income tax returnsbefore, during and after preparation Research and draft technical memoranda or slide decks regardingincome, franchise, sales and use tax, and other state and local taxquestions Support multi-state companies with state and local taxcontroversies which includes preparing clients for discussions withauditors, representing the client at hearings and appeal meetings,and preparing protests Help KPMG audit teams with review and analysis of statetax-related income and balance sheet item; build and manage clientrelationships and supervise, mentor, and develop staff
Qualifications:
Minimum eight years of recent experience performing taxresearch, reviewing state income tax returns, and providingtechnical advice on multi-state tax issues Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG’sapproved credential listing; any individual who does not possess atleast one of the approved designations/credentials when theiremployment commences, has one year from their date of hire toobtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials;should you like to see the complete list of currently approveddesignations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, yourrecruiter can provide you with that list Demonstrated ability to lead teams delivering state and localincome tax compliance and/or consulting services Ability to develop business and foster relationships bothinternally as well as with clients Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, andtax research skills Ability and desire to perform in a high-energy teamenvironment KPMG complies with all local/state regulations regarding displayingsalary ranges.
