What you’ll do… The Associate Manager, Tax Research is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Expert Help Chat program, ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence. This role plays a key part in identifying and implementing process and system improvements, collaborating cross-functionally to drive performance and meet key business objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for client service, a strong operational mindset, and the ability to inspire and develop teams in a fast-paced environment. Day to day, you’ll: Lead and develop a remote team of Tier 2 tax professionals, providing coaching, training, and performance management to foster a high-performing, client-focused culture Interview, hire, and train a large remote seasonal Tier 1 workforce, ensuring readiness and alignment with service expectations Hire, train, and supervise a team of remote seasonal managers, ensuring alignment with program goals and service standards Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance workflows, tools, and client experiences Monitor and manage KPIs, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards are consistently met or exceeded Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align strategies, share insights, and support broader departmental and company initiatives What you’ll bring to the team… Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in individual income tax preparation Proven leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced, and seasonal work environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfort working with spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools Minimum education and work experience requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience Work experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with a strong background in client service. 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a client-facing environment, demonstrating a track record of team leadership and performance management. Active Circular 230 credentials (Enrolled Agent, CPA, or Attorney). Experience leading remote teams effectively. Background in project or program management, with the ability to drive initiatives from planning through execution.
