An Tax Manager, International Tax Services is responsible foradvising multinational clients in a large variety of industries ofthe tax implications relating to their business objectives,recommending alternate courses of action, as well as identifyingdifferent methods of complying with tax regulations. In this role,the International Tax Manager will be charged with advising clientson a broad spectrum of international tax matters including taxplanning, research, quantitative analysis, modeling of tax impactsof planning and international tax compliance. The Tax Manager,International Tax Services will manage international tax consultingprojects for multinational businesses including identifyingplanning and optimization needs, developing solutions,communicating to the client in a non-technical manner whilemanaging risk and coordinating the overall implementation processbetween the client, BDO internal services teams, BDO member firmsglobally and outside advisors. The Manager will also assessinternational tax filing obligations for the multinationalstructure(s), reviewing the international tax returns andoverseeing the international tax compliance process, whereappropriate, in addition to reviewing/developing tax technicalpositions. This role will also serve as a career advisor, train,and develop tax associates in addition to marketing, networking,and business development within area of experience.

Job Duties:
TaxConsulting:

Assists clients and BDO client service teams indeveloping ideas, structures, and transactions•with a focus oninternational matters Interprets existing and new tax laws andclient facts to maximize client benefits and identifies need forother expert resources, internal and external, to assist wherenecessary Coordinates with foreign BDO offices Coordinatescompletion of any international tax compliance/reportingrequirements with client service team created through consultingengagement Assists in managing client expectations Understands,develops, and maintains workplans for tax consulting projectsIdentifies financial reporting and cash tax impact of variousconsulting engagements Applies basic knowledge and understanding oftransfer pricing and foreign tax regimes

Tax Specialization:

Applies an in-depth understanding of the technical and practicalinternational tax issues and opportunities and exploresspecializing in one or more international tax areas Organizes andconducts effective internal training sessions in the area ofspecialization Develops knowledge base of and personal network withprofessionals in selected foreign jurisdictions

Research:

Identifies complex situations when research is necessary providingan outline of the issue(s) and the appropriate source of researchto be conducted Analyzes researched facts and the sources utilizedprior to composing a detailed report of the research findingsPrepares Written Tax Advice (WTA) and confers with National TaxOffice as appropriate

Tax Compliance:

Assists in managing clientengagements Assists in conducting detailed review of internationalaspects of U.S. tax reporting and other client supplied data andidentifies basic issues throughout the engagement Applies anin-depth knowledge of U.S. tax compliance and other filingrequirements as they relate to a client’s international operations,structures, and transactions

Tax Controversy:

Represents clientsbefore the IRS on contested issues, as appropriate, and withassistance and guidance from senior international tax professionals

Applies standards, firm policies and BDO Tax QualityManual requirements Assists in reviewing international aspects oftax provisions including coordination of BDO colleagues in non-USjurisdictions Trains others in international tax aspects of ASC740Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the day-to-day workload of International Tax SeniorAssociates, Associates, and Interns on assigned engagements andreviews work product and ensures their technical developmentDelivers periodic performance feedback and completes performanceevaluations for International Tax Senior Associates, Associates,and Interns Acts as mentor to International Tax Senior Associates,Associates, and Interns, as appropriate

Qualifications, Knowledge,Skills and Abilities:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree, required; focusin Accounting or another business related major, preferred JurisDoctorate degree, LLM and/or MST/MBT, preferred

Experience:

Four(4) or more years of prior experience in corporate tax,international tax or legal professional services or equivalentexperience through an advanced degree program, required Experiencein international tax, required Prior experience supervising taxprofessionals on a project or engagement basis, preferred

License/Certifications:

CPA certification, Attorney (admitted topractice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue ServiceEnrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of thesedesignations), required

Software:

Proficient in the use ofMicrosoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,preferred Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis and/orWestlaw, preferred
