Private Client Services at BDO is a boutique practice within ourfirm. Offering a high touch approach, we have extensive experienceserving high net-worth individuals, their families, family offices,C-Suite executives, athletes, entertainers, as well as other peoplewith complicated tax and financial structures. The Private ClientServices Practice is experienced in all aspects of estate, income,gift, and trust tax consulting and compliance; charitable givingand philanthropic foundations; executive compensation; andcash-flow, retirement, and life insurance planning. A Tax Manager,Private Client Services is responsible for utilizing theireducational background and professional experience as well as theircommunication, time management, leadership, technical, businessdevelopment, and people skills to provide tax compliance andconsulting services to our high net-worth clients.

Job Duties:

Manages tax and consulting engagements and enhance skills allowingyou to identify and address client needs, tax planning, andconsulting opportunities Works directly with clients and theiradvisors to gather information needed to prepare tax returnsReviews individual, trust, estate, S-Corp, foundation, partnership,and gift tax returns and provides written and verbal feedback tostaff and interns Directs communication with government agenciesfor matters of the highest complexity Identifies technical issues,conducts advanced tax research, and develops sound recommendationsfor PCS leadership Develops and expands your understanding of taxconcepts and knowledge through client engagements and current taxdevelopments Prioritizes and completes tasks both individually andwith a team Assists with PCS/firm contribution responsibilitiesincluding billing, recruiting, attendance and participation in CPEactivities and training Builds new relationships and maintainsexisting relationships with BDO professionals and external sources

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises associates and seniorassociates on all projects Reviews work prepared by associates andsenior associates and provide review comments Trains Associates andSeniors how to use all current software tools Acts as a CareerAdvisor to associates and senior associates Schedules and managesworkload of associates and senior associates Provides verbal andwritten performance feedback to associates and senior associates

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree, required; major in Accounting, Finance,Economics, or Statistics, preferred Master’s degree in Accountancyor Taxation, preferred

Experience:

Five (5) or more years priorexperience in accounting, finance, or law, required Experienceworking in public accounting, or the private client service area,preferred

License/Certifications:

Certified Public Accountantcredential, Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”)credential, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction),or the equivalent of one of these designations, required Possessionof other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role,preferred

Software:

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite(specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat,required Experience with tax compliance process software(GoSystems, BNA Tax Planner, GoFileRoom, SurePrep), preferredExperience with tax research tools (BNA Portfolio, CCHIntelliConnect, Checkpoint and Lexis Nexis), preferred
