Private Client Services at BDO is a boutique practice within ourfirm. Offering a high touch approach, we have extensive experienceserving high net-worth individuals, their families, family offices,C-Suite executives, athletes, entertainers, as well as other peoplewith complicated tax and financial structures. The Private ClientServices Practice is experienced in all aspects of estate, income,gift, and trust tax consulting and compliance; charitable givingand philanthropic foundations; executive compensation; andcash-flow, retirement, and life insurance planning. A Tax SeniorManager, Private Client Services (PCS) is responsible for utilizingtheir educational background and professional experience as well astheir communication, time management, leadership, technical,business development, and people skills to provide tax complianceand consulting services to our high net-worth clients.
Job Duties:
Manages tax and consulting engagements and demonstrates skillsidentifying and addressing client needs, tax planning, andconsulting opportunities Provides Executive presence and acts asthe primary client contact for preparation and presentation ofissues and resolution to clients Reviews complex individual, trust,estate, S-Corp, foundation, partnership, and gift tax returns andprovides written and verbal feedback to preparers Directscommunication with government agencies for matters of the highestcomplexity Identifies technical issues, conducts advanced taxresearch, and develops sound recommendations for PCS leadership,clients, and advisors Expands their understanding of tax conceptsand knowledge through client engagements and current taxdevelopments Prioritizes and reviews work to keep engagements ontrack Utilizes strong analytical, research and critical thinkingskills as well as decision-making skills to assist with clientneeds regarding individual and business decisions Assists withPCS/firm contribution responsibilities including billing,recruiting, attendance and participation in CPE activities andtraining Builds new relationships and maintains existingrelationships with BDO professionals and external sources Otherduties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisesassociates and senior associates on all projects Reviews workprepared by associates and senior associates and provide reviewcomments Trains Associates and Seniors how to use all currentsoftware tools Acts as a Career Advisor to associates and seniorassociates Schedules and manages workload of associates and seniorassociates Provides verbal and written performance feedback toassociates and senior associates
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:
Education:
Bachelors degree required; major inAccounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, preferred Masters inAccountancy or Taxation, preferred
Experience:
Seven (7) or moreyears prior experience in accounting, finance, or law, requiredExperience in the private client service area, required Priorsupervisory experience, required Experience working in publicaccounting, preferred
License/Certifications:
Certified PublicAccountant credential, Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent(“EA”) credential, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S.jurisdiction), or the equivalent of one of these designations,required Possession of other professional degrees or certificationsapplicable to role, preferred
Software:
Proficient in the use ofMicrosoft Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)and Adobe Acrobat, required Experience with tax compliance processsoftware (GoSystems, BNA Tax Planner, GoFileRoom, SurePrep),preferred Experience with tax research tools (BNA Portfolio, CCHIntelliConnect, Checkpoint and Lexis Nexis), preferred
