AVP, State & Local Insurance Tax Position Overview :

We areseeking a highly skilled and experienced State and Local InsuranceTax Professional to join our team. In this role, you will beresponsible for managing and ensuring compliance with all state andlocal insurance premium tax laws and planning to ensure we pay theright amount of tax at the right time for Chubb’s US insurancecompanies. You will be analyzing and interpreting complex tax lawsand regulations pertaining to insurance companies, ensuringaccurate state and local tax filings, managing, and resolving taxcontroversies and importantly provide guidance to internal businesspartners and external service providers.

Please note:

We preferthis person to be located on the East Coast (Philadelphia,Whitehouse Station, Jersey City, New York City). However, we’reopen to this person being anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities:

Provide state and local premium tax consultationregarding technical filing requirements supporting the internalbusiness partners Oversee preparation and review of the premium taxreturns prepared by third-party firm, ensuring all compliance andpayment requirements are met timely and accurately Develop andimplement strategies to ensure the Chubb insurance companies arepaying the right amount of premium taxes Collaborate with otherChubb tax professionals on the linkage between premium tax andother state and local taxes to ensure coordination and appropriateplanning is executed Manage tax controversies that arise inrelation to state and local premium taxes. Coordinate responses tothe tax auditors’ inquiries with the appropriate input from tax andbusiness partners and, if necessary, external advisors. Stayup-to-date and well-versed with current state and local tax laws,regulations, and reporting requirements. Interpret complex tax lawsand regulations specific to insurance companies, and effectivelycommunicate their implications Conduct research to pro-activelyidentify potential risks or opportunities. Make resultingrecommendations to improve Chubb’s tax position, as appropriateProvide a review and analysis of the tax provision for premiumtaxes Manage tax staff and external partners in the preparation oftax matters listed above Minimum 10 years’ experience in State andLocal Taxation in a public accounting firm and/or in a largecorporate setting Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance CPA oradvanced degree a plus Insurance premium tax experience requiredStrong leadership and management skills Strong research andproblem-solving skills Proficient in MS Office; Experience withPeopleSoft GL and Corptax preferred The pay range for the role is$112K to $190K. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’sskills and other factors. This role may also be eligible toparticipate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
