What you will do: As a Sales & Use Tax Audit Supervisor you will supervise and coordinate the audit and enforcement functions for the SCDOR under the guidance of the statewide Sales & Use Tax Audit Manager.
Primary job duties include:
Directing and planning the work of the Sales & Use Tax field audit staff assigned to the SCDOR Domestic Audit section. Reviewing and approving audit results for accuracy.
Reviewing filed appeals, along with issuing protest options letters.
Interpreting complicated state tax laws and issues relating to appeals. Holding appeals conferences with taxpayers and/or their representatives as needed. Addressing penalty waiver abatement requests. Implementing and assisting in the formation of tax policies, programs, and procedures.
Coordinating in the training of tax auditors.
Conducting monthly meetings and evaluations of tax auditors.
Helping in coordinating public speakers, tax training classes, and seminars.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting and/or finance courses and five years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis (transcripts required)
A valid driver’s license
Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. Additional Comments

Sales & Use Tax Audit Supervisor’s will participate in training to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to successfully perform their job.

Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m.

Telework schedule:

This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
Office location: Depending on space availability, you may have the option to choose which SCDOR office you work in (Columbia, Charleston, Florence, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, or Rock Hill).
