This position reports directly to the Global Supply Chain FinancialController and is based in Middle Tennessee. The primary focus of the Group Tax Manager is to lead all aspectsof the company’s global tax function, including direct and indirecttax compliance, tax planning, and advisory activities. This roleplays a key part in managing global tax risk, ensuring compliancewith international tax regulations, supporting capital efficiency,and contributing to the company’s broader financial objectives.
- Responsibilities
- Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limitedto:
- Direct Tax and Compliance
- Oversee all income tax compliance, including accuratepreparation, review, and lodgement of annual tax returns andsupporting schedules.
- Prepare and review tax provisions, DTA/DTL calculations, andyear-end true-ups in accordance with accounting standards.
- Manage international tax matters and support cross-bordercompliance requirements.
- Administer transfer pricing policies and documentation, ensuringalignment with global guidelines.
- Review and ensure timely submission of withholding tax returns(interest, royalties, etc.).
- Liaise with external tax advisors and revenue authorities asdirected by the GM of Finance.
- Support audit and review activities conducted by taxauthorities.
- Provide research and timely tax advice to the GM of Finance andinternal stakeholders on complex or emerging issues.
- Indirect Tax
- Oversee GST/VAT, Sales Tax, Payroll Tax, and FBT complianceacross relevant jurisdictions.
- Manage the FBT compliance process, including data collection,analysis, and review of documentation from internal sources (e.
g.
People Mobility, Payroll).
- Advise on FBT implications of non-standard transactions andimplement necessary corrections.
- Review monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) workpapers andensure AP tax coding compliance.
- Global Tax Reporting and Advisory
- Coordinate the preparation and review of global tax reports tosupport business and statutory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to strategic and operational finance projects asneeded.
- Process Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead the Tax Team’s work assignments and training schedule toensure timely and efficient delivery of obligations.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement,automation, and enhanced compliance efficiencies.
- Develop strong relationships with internal departments to ensurealignment and timely input into tax processes.
- Experience
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business, orCommerce.
- -5 years’ experience + in accounting and/or tax function,preferably with Big 4 experience.
- International tax experience highly regarded, particularly withexposure to the USA and The Netherlands.
- Strong technical expertise in Australian income tax, GST, andFBT.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) andfamiliarity with financial systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder managementcapabilities.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with theability to meet tight deadlines.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with a high level ofattention to detail.
