Job Description Pay Range:
Starting at $15.00 an hour

Role:
The primary function of this position is to assist Gulf Winds in achieving its strategic goals for branch operations, building member relationships, and providing exceptional member service. This position accurately assists members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. This position educates members on credit union products and services to enhance the member’s financial well-being. In addition to hourly income, this position has an incentive program that gives the employee the opportunity to earn additional compensation.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; redeems bonds for members and non members; performs credit card cash advances for both members and non-members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Welcomes members and provides information and education concerning credit union services/products and directs member to appropriate department. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions. Complies with all applicable regulations and policies, including BSA, OFAC and Physical Security. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers and associates. Balances daily, with no exceptions. Accurately post transactions in accordance with Gulf Winds guidelines. Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for the betterment of the member. Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance. Complies with all applicable rules, regulations and policies, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC and Physical Security.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
Minimum of six months cash handling or related experience preferred.
Education:
A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills:
Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English clearly. Normally expected to work between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Some nights and/or weekends required. Must adhere to safety rules and regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50lbs or more including but not limited to paper supplies and full coin bags.
Work Environment:
