The Head Teller/CSR position is a dual role that functions as both the Head Teller and a Customer Service Representative as staffing and customer traffic demands. The primary function of this role is to provide excellent customer service to new and existing customers, while maintaining confidentiality and integrity and following all bank policies and procedures. A CSR is responsible for all account openings, closing, and customer maintenance requests. The Head Teller processes all banking transactions with efficiency and accuracy, while following all bank policies and procedures. They are also responsible for the daily management of the teller line. The Head Teller/CSR will have extensive contact with the customers and the public and is expected to conduct all interactions in a professional manner that will enhance the overall reputation and image of the bank.
Essential CSR Functions:
Answers incoming phone calls daily and greet & assist all customers in the bank lobby in a friendly and professional manner Open all new personal and business accounts (including checking, savings, money markets, CD’s, IRA’s, & Safe Deposit Boxes) according to bank standards, with minimal errors or exceptions. Process all maintenance requests for customers, including personal information updates and changes to accounts Process all debit card applications, issue new cards, assist customers with card issues, PIN maintenance & DBC disputes Assist customers with requests involving Power of Attorneys appointments, Trust Accounts, Estate Accounts, Custodial Accounts, Letters of Testamentary, death certificates, and UTMA Accounts Provides assistance with Online Banking enrollment and maintenance Provides assistance with Telephone Banking System Handle Contribution, Distribution and Rollover requests for Customer IRA’s Process CD withdrawal and redemption requests appropriately Promote and Cross-sell additional bank products and services Assist customers with Wire requests, Stop Payment Requests, AFT requests, check orders and fraud issues as needed Assist customers with requested funds transfers via telephone or in person. Balance customer checkbooks upon request. Functions:
Serve as the first point of contact with customers, greet customer in a friendly and professional manner. Process deposits, withdrawals and transfer requests for checking and savings accounts Cash checks for customers and non-customers Process loan payments Process change orders and currency exchanges Prepare and verify cashier’s checks Run internal General Ledger transactions as needed Redeem savings bonds Process night and mail deposits each day Balance cash drawers & vault daily with accuracy and minimal errors Perform monthly teller & vault audits Provide customers with information on additional bank products and services Complete Compliance and Security training as needed Assist customers with general banking questions and account specific questions Perform administrative duties such as answering internal and external phone calls, managing emails, & keeping a clean and organized workspace, teller drawer and teller line Prepare and Receive Shipments as needed Have solid knowledge of CTR’s and be able to complete and give instruction to others Assist with Proof Corrections, Teller and Vault WIP outages whenever necessary Assist Retail Trainer with new hire teller training on the teller line Follow and enforce all Teller procedures and disciplinary actions Follow all policies and procedures as a Teller and Employee Promote an inviting atmosphere for our customers and employees by having a good attitude, professional appearance and being a team player
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
GED/High School Diploma 2+ years of banking experience, teller and account opening experience preferred Organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy skills required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and be honest.
