Description:

Our client is seeking a strong candidate for their Bank Teller position. This person will be responsible for representing the bank,
to members in a courteous and professional manner, provides prompt, efficient and accurate service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Meets or exceeds all service and sales expectations.
2. Must be able to maintain a professional image at all times.
3. Possess adequate product knowledge as measured by the annual product knowledge certification assessment
4. Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements
5. Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances
6. Enters customers’ transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts
7. Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds
8. Orders daily supply of cash, and counts incoming cash
9. Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
10. Completes all necessary paperwork including sending new member letters, internal documents and reports.
11. Explains, promotes, or sells credit union products or services.
12. Must be able to travel, float, and work at other branches to assist as needed.
13. Removes deposits from, and counts and balances cash in, automated teller machines and night depository.
14. Provides backup to Phone Center/Engagement Center as necessary.
15. Understands compliance issues and attends training as they relate to credit union services including, but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act, Reg P and Patriot Act.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Displays an ability to write routine reports and provide clear correspondence to internal and external members.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to verbally connect with members through phone calls, emails, and in person.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should display good understanding of basic computer skills and the ability to learn how to use proprietary software quickly; with knowledge of Keystone, word, and other credit union specific software.
