Overview It is the responsibility of the Teller to representMiddlesex Savings Bank to the public and to their colleagues, andto promote the Bank’s core values and mission. This is accomplishedby focusing on the customer experience, achievement of operationalexcellence, focus on performance goals, solid decision making, anda commitment to the success of the Bank and of their team. TheTeller promotes strong customer relationships as follows: conductsa wide array of customer transactions; recommends products andservices in conformance with established Bank objectives; andassists customers with questions, as requested. ResponsibilitiesCustomer ExperienceDevelops an understanding of customers’ needsand expectations, ensures that products and services are offeredthat address those needs and expectations. Develops new business byrecommending products and services to establish or extend customerrelationships, including utilization of business partners asappropriate. Operational Excellence Ensures quality and accuracy ofwork. Demonstrates sound technical knowledge, including of Bankproducts, services and technology services. Stays informed of andadheres to alerts, procedures and policies. Performs all duties inaccordance with prescribed compliance, security and risk protocols.

Maintains proficiency in regulatory compliance. Complies with allBank policies including those pertaining to confidentiality, email,and others. Teamwork Is an engaged member of the branch team; stepsup as needed to accomplish team objectives. Supports the branchsupervisors in implementing Bank policies, procedures andinitiatives and creating a positive work environment. CredibilityFollows through on tasks and assignments, manages time andpriorities effectively and demonstrates flexibility. Expressesideas well and clearly; uses professional written, verbal andelectronic communications. Supports branch, division and Bank’sstrategic goals. Decision Making Understands and complies with Bankpolicies and procedures. Is aware of potential risks and alertsbranch supervisors as appropriate. Brings requests for exceptionsto branch supervisors as appropriate. Miscellaneous Performsfunctions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide thehighest level of service and responsiveness to customers andco-workers. Performs other related and unrelated duties asrequired. Qualifications High School diploma or its equivalent.

Three to six months banking or retail cash handling experiencepreferred. Strong customer service, interpersonal andorganizational skills desired. Must possess knowledge of basic mathprinciples and be able to perform basic mathematical procedures.

Must possess intermediate technology skills, including knowledge ofMicrosoft Office. Must be able to work extended and weekend hours.

Scheduling and work location flexibility required. Must be able tostand for extended periods of time and lift 25 pounds.
