Role :
The Teller II will assist members and potential members with their Credit Union financial needs in a prompt, friendly, and efficient manner, both in person and on the phone, following current service model standards. Refer members to appropriate Credit Union personnel for services outside the scope of given responsibility. The Teller II will also maintain cash levels and balancing for the vault and branch cash equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Processes member financial transactions, including (but not limited to) cash and negotiable instrument deposits and withdrawals, instant issue creation, fraud research and service events, certificates of deposits, check orders, providing savings rate sheets and projections for potential deposits, make payments on and answer questions concerning existing loans, enroll accounts in online banking and assist with log-in and self-service questions, assist with member access to safe deposit boxes, completing and submitting documentation for IRA deposits and withdrawals, and printing transaction history to assist members with personal balancing and research. Identifies cross-sell opportunities for new/existing members to enhance their relationship with the Credit Union. Resolves member questions and concerns, both in person and over the phone. Promotes and participates in any branch promotion and/or Credit Union campaigns.
Responsible for vault custodian duties:
ensures the branch is within Credit Union Cash Policy, maintains and balances cash vault, and orders and receives daily cash requirements for the branch. Maintains, replenishes and cleans automated equipment. Manages cards for instant issue and maintains instant issue machines. Manages supplies for the coin machine and empties the machine as needed. Assists with balancing daily branch reports. Supports employees when buying and selling from the vault or automated equipment and balances individual cash daily. Resolves automated equipment issues, including balancing, researching and problem resolution. Maintains and follows retention of required stored items in the branch. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience :
Six months or more cash handling experience and/or six months or more customer service experience is required. Six months or more of Teller experience is preferred.
Education :
a high school diploma or GED is required. Other skills required : Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and make recommendations to all levels of the organization. Must possess attention to detail and mathematical ability to perform very basic math skills. Must possess excellent organizational, analytical and reasoning skills. Strong customer service orientation. Must be able to work well with others. Must be proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
