The Teller is a key front-line position responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately processing financial transactions. Tellers assist customers with deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, and other banking services in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner. They ensure transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with bank policies, regulations, and security procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Transactions:
Process Financial Transactions:
Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and money orders.
Maintain Cash Drawer:
Reconcile cash drawer daily, ensuring cash balances and transaction records are accurate.
Verify Customer Information:
Verify the identity of customers and the authenticity of checks or currency during transactions.
Process Transfers:
Assist customers in transferring funds between accounts or to other financial institutions.
Customer Service:
Provide Assistance:
Address customer inquiries regarding bank services, policies, and products, ensuring they are answered promptly and thoroughly.
Resolve Issues:
Assist with resolving issues or concerns related to accounts and transactions, ensuring that customers leave satisfied.
Cross-Sell Bank Products:
Promote and inform customers about additional bank products and services that may meet their needs, such as savings accounts, loans, and credit cards.
Cash Handling and Security:
Ensure Accuracy:
Handle cash and negotiable instruments with precision, ensuring all transactions are processed according to bank policies and procedures.
Follow Security Procedures:
Adhere to security protocols to protect the bank’s assets and ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff.
Report Suspicious Activity:
Be vigilant in identifying potential fraudulent activities and report any suspicious transactions to management.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain Customer Records:
Ensure customer information is updated and accurate in the bank’s system.
Balance Cash Drawer:
Perform regular cash drawer audits and reconciliation to ensure cash handling practices are correct.
Prepare Reports:
Assist with daily transaction reports and other necessary documentation.

Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional coursework in banking or finance is a plus.
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a customer service role, with a preference for experience in banking or financial services. Experience with cash handling and familiarity with banking products and services is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of banking systems and teller software is a plus. Why Join Us?
