We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experiencedController to join our fast-growing team. This is an excitingopportunity for a finance professional with a background in PrivateEquity and Venture Capital. The successful candidate will play acrucial role in the financial management of our company, ensuringall accounting allocations are appropriately made and documented.
The Permanent Controller will also oversee the development ofbudgets and financial forecasts, the preparation of all financialreports, and the design and maintenance of financial policies andprocedures. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experiencein a similar role, with a strong emphasis on private equity andventure capital.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all accounts,ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriateGAAP standards and regulatory requirements. 2. Maintain internalcontrol safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both teamand organizational budgets and actual expenditures. 3. Coordinateall audit activity and manage finance staff. 4. Regularly producefinancial reports and statements to inform stakeholders of theorganization’s financial status and progress. 5. Implementfinancial management tools and software to improve efficiency. 6.Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cashmanagement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control,and petty cash. 7. Monitor the financial performance of the companyand report any deviations from the budget. 8. Collaborate with themanagement team to strategize on financial planning andforecasting. 9. Monitor investment portfolio and make decisionsbased on market trends. 10. Ensure compliance with all taxregulations and filings.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree inAccounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA, CMA, or otherfinancial certifications are preferred. 2. Minimum 5 years ofexperience in a senior-level finance or accounting position,preferably in the private equity or venture capital sector. 3.Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost controlprinciples including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP). 4. Knowledge of automated financial and accountingreporting systems. 5. Experience in audits, internal control, andtax planning. 6. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgetingand forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitabilityanalysis. 7. High level of integrity and dependability with astrong sense of urgency and results-orientation. 8. Strong businessand common sense acumen, analytical problem-solving, anddecision-making skills. 9. Excellent communication skills, bothverbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact withall levels of the organization. 10. Exceptional leadership skills,with a proven track record of leading a financial team to meetorganizational objectives. 11. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, withexceptional skills in Excel and financial software applications.
