This role is responsible for executing and supporting the month-end close process, preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, and developing robust internal control policies and procedures. Position Essential Functions Manage all aspects of the general ledger Assist with the management and supervision of all accounting operations, including billing, AR, and AP Support the execution of the month and year-end close Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements Coordinate and assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements Research technical accounting issues for compliance with GAAP Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analysis Serve as liaison to external auditors Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Controller Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 5+ years of overall accounting and finance experience Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities Experience with general ledger functions in the month-end/year-end close Experience in preparing and reviewing partnership, corporate, and payroll tax filings Experience with various accounting software, NetSuite experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively CPA preferred Rural Metro Fire (RMF), a trusted provider of private fire management and protection services, has recently been acquired by Brindlee Fire Services (BFS) from Global Medical Response (GMR).
