out of 5 stars Birmingham, AL 35205 Description Directs the financial affairs of a large, complex department, school or of multiple departments reporting to a vice president/provost. Represents and speaks on behalf of the dean, chairman or vice president/provost with regard to all financial matters. Responsible for financial analysis/forecasting/budgeting, enforcement, space and facilities planning, and grants administration. Establishes financial systems for department(s). May be involved in programmatic aspects of department(s). Directs staff as necessary to assure completion of projects and proper functioning of business and program operations. This position serves as the lead financial role in the Department of Neurosurgery, in charge of all Department financial matters for both UAHSF and UAB. Includes budget preparation for both UAHSF and UAB, monthly financial reporting, monthly projections, physician compensation plan analysis and MD incentive payment calculations, oversight of grants administration. Establishes financial policy and strategy for the Department, and day to day activities of both UAHSF and UAB including revenue and expense accountability. Supervises one Financial Officer. Reports to the Department’s Executive Administrator.
Salary Range:
$94,375 – $153,355 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and seven (7) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
