Controller 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Branford, CT 06405 We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction accounting and financial management. You will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting principles. Perform account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies efficiently. Utilize Sage 100 software to maintain and update financial records effectively. Develop and generate financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning. Monitor and manage construction accounting activities, including job costing and expense tracking. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial operations. Provide insights and recommendations for improving accounting processes and systems. Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls within all financial activities. Proven experience in construction accounting, including job costing and expense tracking. Proficiency in month-end closing procedures and financial reporting. Strong knowledge of account reconciliation processes and journal entry preparation. Hands-on experience with Sage 100 software. Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
