Job Description:

The University of Florida College of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance. This role is to support the Director of Finance in executing the financial strategy and operations of the College of Nursing, with an emphasis on the financial management and growth of the Faculty Practice. This position plays a critical role in advancing strategic initiatives through financial analysis, modeling, and performance reporting. The Assistant Director ensures financial compliance, facilitates data-informed decision-making, and contributes to the development of new business and clinical ventures aligned with the College’s academic, clinical, and strategic priorities. This role requires strong analytical acumen, deep understanding of healthcare and academic finance, and the ability to provide operational insight and guidance to a wide range of stakeholders Responsibilities include: Faculty Practice Financial Management + Lead the analysis and monitoring of Faculty Practice performance, identifying opportunities for operational improvement and financial growth. + Develop and maintain proformas and financial models to support service line expansion, partnerships, and strategic business decisions. + Collaborate with clinical leadership to assess service delivery models and implement financially sustainable practices. Strategic Financial Planning & Budgeting + Partner with the Director of Finance to develop and manage budgets aligned with the College’s strategic goals. + Provide in-depth financial analysis to support academic, clinical, and research initiatives. + Contribute to long-range financial planning and scenario modeling to inform strategic decision-making. + Assist in the financial evaluation of new programs, funding sources, and resource allocation plans. Financial Reporting & Compliance + Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards for senior leadership, including Faculty Practice and other fund sources. + Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to Faculty Practice and other fund sources. + Support the coordination of internal audits, reconciliations, and risk mitigation strategies. + Oversee financial reporting for clinical contracts and external engagements. Operations & Stakeholder Engagement + Serve as a liaison between Finance and key stakeholders across academic, clinical, and operational units. + Collaborate with central finance, human resources, and research administration to align financial processes and reporting. + Assist with training and guidance for faculty and staff on financial tools and processes. + Support continuous improvement of financial systems, reporting mechanisms, and business practices.

Expected Salary:

$105,000 – $120,000 annually

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and 2 years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

+ Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business, MBA and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred + Experience with Microsoft (MS) Excel and MS Access + Experience with PeopleSoft and Workday + Experience in higher education, clinical practice finance, contracts and grants, and project management Knowledge of the State University System (SUS), UF, State and Federal rules and regulations as it applies to finance. + Strong fiscal and budgeting skills preferred + Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred + Strong organizational and critical thinking skills preferred Special Instructions to
