South University Drive, Davie, FL 33328 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations. This position involves overseeing various accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial forecasting. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to maintain accurate financial records and contribute to strategic financial planning. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting to support organizational goals. Maintain accurate records through double entry bookkeeping practices. Ensure proper documentation of debits and credits for all transactions. Collaborate with the Controller on governmental accounting requirements as needed. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial activities. Identify areas for process improvement within the accounting department. Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Proven experience in accounting roles, with a strong understanding of financial concepts. Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
