Job Description

I am recruiting on behalf of a family office in the Fort Lauderdale. This is a unique opportunity for a finance and accounting professional to join a lean, high-performing team supporting the personal and business interests of a multi-generational family. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys the breadth of responsibilities found in a family office environment, is hands-on with financial operations, and brings strong analytical and client service skills. About the

Role:

The role is split between two key functions: Overseeing relationships with outsourced service providers (accounting, bill pay, tax, and investment reporting), and Delivering personalized financial oversight and analysis for the principal and related entities. You’ll work closely with the CFO and directly support the principal, ensuring accurate reporting, effective vendor coordination, and cash flow management. While the technical aspects of accounting and tax are largely outsourced, your role is pivotal in managing, analyzing, and interpreting the data – and making sure everything gets done with excellence and discretion.

Ideal Background:

We’re seeking someone with experience supporting high-net-worth individuals or families – perhaps from a family office (single or multi), a private bank, or a boutique financial advisory/CFO services firm. A public accounting background with exposure to partnerships and high-net-worth clients could also be a strong fit, especially if paired with experience in a more personalized financial environment. Must have ability to work effectively with outside advisors on tax and investment reporting. Knowledge of time-weighted returns (TWR) is a plus, though not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate with outsourced service providers for accounts payable, bill pay, credit card reconciliation, and financial reporting. Monitor daily cash activity and support overall cash management, including fund transfers and liquidity tracking. Liaise with external tax advisors to coordinate and support individual and entity-level compliance; track tax deliverables and filing timelines. Track investment portfolio activity across asset classes; help prepare periodic performance summaries. Manage household and personal insurance matters including policy renewals, claims coordination, and ongoing coverage needs. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts. Handle a variety of ad hoc financial and administrative projects as they arise. Provide discreet, concierge-style support to the principal and family members, coordinating special requests and household needs.

Qualifications:

5-10+ years of experience supporting high-net-worth individuals or private clients, ideally within a family office, private bank, or boutique CFO/advisory firm. Strong understanding of personal finance, partnership structures, and general tax concepts (e.g., K-1s, 1099s). Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to review outsourced work product and catch discrepancies or missing information.

Technically proficient:

solid experience with Excel, Bill.com, and a general ledger system like Sage Intacct or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. High level of discretion, integrity, and commitment to fiduciary standards. Excellent communication and collaboration skills – someone who’s proactive, thoughtful, and comfortable in a service-oriented role.

This Role Is For You If:

You’re comfortable in a hybrid strategic/tactical position – equally happy reviewing investment returns and tracking expenses. You enjoy wearing multiple hats and appreciate the unique pace and personal touch of family office work. You thrive in a collaborative, professional environment where trust and reliability are paramount.
