Responsibilities:
About the Role Own and streamline premium billing operations; ensure accurate and timely commission payments. Oversee financial reconciliation processes, including chargeback handling and payment tracking. Maintain the general ledger, ensure timely monthly closes, and produce accurate financial statements. Develop and enforce internal controls to improve accuracy, prevent errors, support compliance, and provide financial transparency. Collaborate with executive leadership to improve the reporting structure and provide financial insights. Identify system improvements and help integrate tools for scalable financial workflows. Lead and grow a lean, high-performing finance team by setting clear expectations, mentoring staff, and optimizing roles and responsibilities. Assist in audit preparation, documentation, and implementation of best practices in financial operations.
Qualifications:
Who You Are Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in a Controller or senior accounting role. Experience working in or supporting commission-based business models, ideally in insurance. Strong organizational skills with the ability to design efficient workflows and bring clarity to complex processes. Proven leadership abilities, with mentoring and developing finance teams. Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems. Proficient in Excel and other accounting software; strong analytical and organizational skills.
