National Real Estate Management Firm has an excellent career opportunity for an energetic and dynamic individual to join our team as a Controller to manage the company’s financial operations to support our growth and expansion. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the company, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and providing insights into financial performance. You will collaborate closely with senior management to help drive strategic decision-making and ensure financial sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Manage cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques.
Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure proper audits and tax compliance.
Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
Work closely with property management and development teams to track project costs and profitability.
Ensure compliance with real estate accounting standards and industry-specific regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a real estate or property management environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and real estate industry practices.
Proficient in property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Ability to think strategically and offer recommendations to improve financial performance.
