FLITE Center, supported by a coalition of service providers, is a central resource for youth that prepares them to lead successful lives after aging out of foster care.
Position Objective:
The Director of Finance provides strategic and operational leadership for the financial management of FLITE Center. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, audit preparation, and compliance. The Director ensures fiscal responsibility and sustainability while supporting the organization’s mission and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals. Provide timely, accurate financial analyses, forecasts, and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors to support informed decision-making. Advise leadership on financial planning, risk management, and resource allocation. Support grant writing, budgeting, and financial reporting related to grants and other funding sources. Accounting & Compliance Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Manage annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors. Budgeting & Reporting Lead the development and management of the annual budget and multi-year financial plans. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership and the Board. Oversee the preparation and submission of financial reports required by funders, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders. Cash & Asset Management Manage cash flow to ensure the financial stability of the organization. Monitor investments, reserves, and other assets to optimize returns and mitigate risk. Oversee the management and reconciliation of credit card transactions and banking relationships. Systems & Process Improvement Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes, including FundEz and other technologies. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, transparency, and accountability. Team Leadership Build and mentor a high-performing finance team as the organization grows. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, integrity, and collaboration.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or master’s degree in a related discipline preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, preferably with nonprofit organizations. Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting. Experience with financial management software (e.g., FundEz) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related tools. Demonstrated success in developing budgets, managing audits, and overseeing complex financial operations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for FLITE Center’s mission.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
