JOB SUMMARY
The Finance Director/Controller for BLUE Landscape and Outdoor Solutions will oversee the financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal financial performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Oversight and Management:
Oversee the financial operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement financial strategies to support growth and profitability. Monitor financial performance, prepare reports, and provide insights to senior management.
Budgeting:
Collaborate with the President and senior managers to prepare annual budgets. Analyze and report on budget versus actual variances.
Operational Reporting and Support:
Manage our system of KPIs and dashboards. Work with functional and operational team leaders to identify improvement areas within their functions.
Team Leadership and Development:
Manage a team of finance associates, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and other financial reports. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team.
Accounts Payable Management:
Oversee the Accounts Payable Specialist role and the Accounts Payable function. Supervise vendor management and insurance audits.
Accounting and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing financial statements and reconciliations. Coordinate with external auditors and ensure the successful completion of audits. Maintain our accounting records. Oversee our monthly financial close, including monthly accruals, account reconciliations, and monthly corporate reporting package. Collaborate with the President and senior managers to prepare periodic financial forecast updates. Update and enhance monthly reporting packages for leadership, including analysis. Supervise the compilation of revenue, recognized costs, and profits on significant construction and maintenance projects. Liaise with auditors and perform other compliance functions.
Other Accounting and Finance Functions:
Cash management and collections. Engage in ad hoc projects assigned by the President or senior management. Assist accounting and finance team members. Undertake other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA certification preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in the construction and/or landscape industry is required. Proven experience in conducting financial due diligence and evaluating acquisition opportunities. Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and compliance requirements. Advanced proficiency in financial management systems, including Aspire, NetSuite, and Microsoft Excel, for comprehensive data management, analysis, and reporting. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
